अवतार क्या है? (Avatar Kya Hai?)

हिंदू धर्म में अवतार एक अनोखी और पवित्र अवधारणा है। अवतार शब्द संस्कृत के अव और तृ से आया है जिसका अर्थ है नीचे आना या प्रकट होना। यह उस समय को दर्शाता है जब भगवान विष्णु पृथ्वी पर मानव, पशु या अन्य रूप में अवतरित होते हैं ताकि धर्म की स्थापना करें और अधर्म का नाश करें। सनातन धर्म में अवतार ईश्वर की कृपा और रक्षा का प्रतीक है।

भगवान विष्णु के दस अवतार, जिन्हें दशावतार कहते हैं, सबसे प्रसिद्ध हैं। इनमें मत्स्य, कूर्म, वराह, नरसिंह, वामन, परशुराम, राम, कृष्ण, बुद्ध और कल्कि शामिल हैं। उदाहरण के लिए रामायण में श्रीराम ने रावण का वध कर धर्म की रक्षा की और भगवद् गीता में श्रीकृष्ण ने अर्जुन को सत्य का मार्ग दिखाया।

What is the Concept of Avatar in Hinduism?

In Hinduism, the concept of Avatar is unique and sacred. The word Avatar comes from the Sanskrit roots ava and tṛ, meaning to descend or to manifest. It refers to the divine descent of Lord Vishnu to Earth in human, animal, or other forms to restore Dharma (righteousness) and destroy Adharma (unrighteousness). In Sanatana Dharma, Avatars symbolize God’s grace and protection.

The ten Avatars of Vishnu, known as Dashavatara, are the most famous. These include Matsya (fish), Kurma (tortoise), Varaha (boar), Narasimha (man-lion), Vamana (dwarf), Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki (yet to come). For example, in the Ramayana, Lord Rama defeated Ravana to uphold Dharma, while in the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna guided Arjuna toward truth.
